Fellowship Guidelines
The Green Family Foundation Caribbean Cultural Institute (CCI) Fellowship Program fosters art projects and research that advance cultural development and scholarship in the Caribbean and its diaspora. Through research and production-based art fellowships, the program cultivates new ideas that challenge traditional conceptions of Caribbean art, generates innovative study of the region, and reflects upon the contemporary state of Caribbean art and thought.
The CCI Fellowship program is intended to support researchers, scholars, artists, and female or nonbinary photographers from the Caribbean and its diaspora whose projects would benefit from access to the institutional resources of the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), the Kimberly Green Latin American and Caribbean Center at Florida International University (FIU-LACC), and Green Space Miami. In 2026, the CCI invites interested researchers, scholars, artists, and female or nonbinary photographers to apply for the CCI Research Fellowship, CCI Artist Fellowship, and CCI + Women Photographers International Archive (WOPHA) Fellowship. All three programs are self-directed and will take place between September and December 2026. The exact dates of each one will depend upon the specific requirements of the project and be mutually decided upon by the awardee, the CCI team, and the partner organizations.

Research
CCI Research Fellowship
The CCI Research Fellowship is intended for established and promising Caribbean researchers and scholars based in the Caribbean or its diaspora whose work advances the study of contemporary art of the region. The CCI encourages proposals that expand the scholarship on Caribbean artworks in PAMM’s collection but also welcomes research projects that shed light on other aspects of Caribbean art and cultural production from an interdisciplinary perspective.

- Hybrid format, completed within four months
- Access to FIU archives and local collections
- Networking with artists, professionals, and scholars
- Collaboration with Green Space Miami and FIU-LACC
- Travel and two-week Miami accommodations covered
- Research stipend provided plus up to $1,000
- Fellows publish an essay on CCI/FIU-LACC

Artist
CCI Artist Fellowship
The CCI Artist Fellowship is intended for emerging to mid-career Caribbean artists and cultural practitioners based in the Caribbean or its diaspora and working across a range of disciplines and media. This opportunity aims to support the development of artistic practice via studio work; mentorship; institutional collaborations; networking with local artists, art professionals, and scholars; and/or engagement in public programs.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
- Institutional support and access to PAMM curatorial resources
- Public program collaboration with Green Space Miami
- Engagement with FIU-LACC academic community
- Hosted in Miami for up to two months
- Accommodations, stipend, and studio space provided
- Studio in collaboration with Bakehouse Art Complex
- Travel expenses to and from Miami covered
- Production budget up to $4,000 based on need

Photography
CCI + Women Photographers International Archive (WOPHA) Fellowship
The CCI + WOPHA Fellowship is open to emerging and mid-career women and nonbinary photographers from the Caribbean or its diaspora. During the fellowship period, the selected CCI + WOPHA Fellow will focus on the production of a new body of work or on expanding an ongoing project. The fellow will be able to develop their photographic practice through research, mentorship and engagement with the local art community.*
* In this context, photographic practice includes, but is not limited to, creating images with or without cameras; automated and computational processes; augmented photography; and collecting, archiving, and/or circulating images.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
- Institutional support and access to curatorial resources/networks
- Collaboration with Green Space Miami and FIU-LACC
- September–November, hybrid in-person and remote format
- September residency at El Espacio 23 in Miami
- Stipend plus production funds up to $4,000
- Round-trip airfare provided for non-Miami-based fellows

Application Process
The CCI Fellowship program is open to Caribbean researchers, scholars, artists, and female or nonbinary photographers from the Caribbean and its diaspora. Please note that PAMM cannot provide visas, nor can it sponsor international applicants. All international participants in the program must secure their own visas prior to commencing their fellowship.
